A 22-player Indian team left for Belfort, France on Monday night from Delhi to participate in the World Youth Chess Festival to be held there from July 19-31. In every section, India is strong that one can anticipate ateast three titles and five medals.
Youngest IM Parimarjan Negi of Delhi is warm and experienced for his section. WGM Dronavalli Harika of Guntur is both experienced and strong for her section. There are two experienced people, Suhas Asnodkar (Goa) and Dipak Ghatuar (Assam) accompanying the team as manager. It is going to be an event filled competition for this talented group of kids who are participating right from the U-10, 12, 14, 16 and U-18 boys and girls sections. Only concern for our players is the travel sickness and food for some of them.
