Karthikeyan Wins Masters Tourney

International Master P. Karthikeyan of Chennai won the inaugural International Masters Chess Tournament with a 9/11 score at Colombo on September 3, 2008. Recently Indians finished 1-2-3. This week they improved on it by taking 1-2-3-4-5 and Indians are always improving on all overseas performances.

Sri Lankans and Bangladeshi player had to take the other places. It was a 12-player all-play-all. The details are on www.lankachess.com.

FM Nasir Ahmen (Ban) 4, 9-10. T.G.M. Peiris (Sri), W.G. Luxman (Sri) 3.5 each, 11. R. Weerawardane (Sri) 3, 12. R.M.C.M. Rajapakse (Sri) 2.5.
