India, Armenia In Lead

India rediscovered its winning ways by crushing Georgia 3.5-0.5 in the
seventh round of the World Youth Chess Olympiad on August 22.
Led by wins from Adhiban, Sethuraman at the top, Shyam Sundar drew and
Prasanna Rao scored on the bottom board. India jumped to 19.5 points to
join Armenia in the lead.
The Philippines did a great favour crushing leaders Russia 3-1 to open up
the ten round tournament.
Defending champions India have easy opponents to take in the next three
rounds.
This event is happening at Mersin, in Asiatic Turkey.
Standings after seven rounds: 1-2 India, Armenia 19.5/28 each, 3
Philippines 19, 4 Russia 18.5, 5 Azerbaijan 18...26 teams.
